Reformation 500 Conference

As part of this year’s celebrations of the 500th Anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation, Concordia Seminary, St. Catharines, will hold a conference exploring the Reformation’s impact on parish life. “The Reformation of Worship and Preaching” will feature Rev. Dr. Jobst Schöne, bishop emeritus of the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany (SELK) and Rev. Dr. Fredrik Sidenvall, Principal at L. M. Engströms Gymnasium, Lutheran High School, Gothenburg, Sweden. The conference will begin after the seminary’s opening service, Sunday, September 10, 4:00 pm. Dr. Schöne will open with a keynote address Sunday evening entitled “Luther without Myths”. On Monday, September 11, Dr Schöne will continue with Luther’s reform of Christian Worship, highlighting the impact of the Gospel. Dr. Sidenvall will extend the theme to encompass preaching.
